JJ’s is one of the longest continuously operating independent restaurants in Kansas City. Started in February 1985 by Jimmy Frantzè, a restaurateur for over 30 years.
Located on a quiet street just west of the Country Club Plaza, JJ’s is not exactly a well kept secret. Rated by the Zagat Survey as "one of KC’s top restaurants" the contemporary American menu has something for every taste. The Paco Shrimp has been rated best appetizer in town, and the JJ’s Pride is known as one of the best steaks in Kansas City, along with a number of other steaks along with tender lamb and fresh seafood is flown in daily. Many of the ingredients used in JJ’s cuisine come from local producers which insures our customers of the highest quality foods available.
The bar area is dominated by a library of liquors, scotches, and vintage ports. James Symington has declares JJ’s vintage port list as "one of the best in the world". And the wine list was awarded a "Grand Award" from the Wine Spectator as one of the most comprehensive in the world.
